FAQ
What is this lattice perturbation theory business?
- Lattice perturbation theory is better thought of as "perturbation theory for lattice actions", that is, the application of standard perturbative field theoretic techniques to theories defined in a discreted space-time. Further information, which assumes some knowledge of lattice gauge theories, is given in this introductory page.
What is lattice QCD?
- At some point there will be an introduction to lattice QCD for the casual reader. In the meantime, here is a list of articles aimed at a general audience. (Yes, I admit there is some bias here in choosing this set of links: I am a member of the HPQCD collaboration, from whose website this set of links is taken.)
What is this website?
- This website aims to help you navigate the lattice perturbation theory literature. A list of resources is given here.
Is this website for me?
- This website is intended to be a guide to the technical research literature for interested researchers and lattice practitioners. The resources listed are not aimed at a general audience.
Why and how did this website arise?
- My Ph.D. thesis focussed on the application of lattice perturbation theory to lattice NRQCD and when I moved to my first postdoc I discovered a whole wild world of lattice perturbation theory calculations that had hitherto passed me by. This website grew out of an attempt to systematically correct my ignorance and to share these efforts with others working on lattice perturbation theory.
I have found a mistake or omission in the resources listed. What can I do?
- Please contact me at chris.monahan'at'utah.edu.
I have not found a mistake or omission, but I do have other questions. What can I do?
- Please contact me at chris.monahan'at'utah.edu.
I have found a profound flaw in Einstein's Theory of General Relativity. What can I do?
- There are many other theoretical physicists vastly more qualified to understand your work and bring to it the attention it deserves. Please do not contact me.
